Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Post Graduate Studies was established in the year 1995 with an intake of 30 students. The Institute is Approved by AICTE & Government of A.P, Affiliated to JNTUK.
The College is situated at about 8 km from Kakinada Railway Station and 7 km from Bus Station and 65 Km from Airport (Rajahmundry Nearest).
In addition to the regular curriculum additional inputs are given to students as the scenario in the IT industry keep changing periodically.  In addition to the curriculum, seminars from experts in the industry as well as academics are organized. Further, project works and intradepartmental contests enable the students to sharpen their skills. In response to the ever-changing needs of the IT industries, Industry Competency Laboratory is being set up.

The department is creating a synergy between computer education and the demands of IT
